Dave Elmendorf (David Cole Elmendorf) was born on June 20, 1949 in San Antonio, Texas. After going to high school at Westbury (Houston, TX), Elmendorf attended Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University. Elmendorf made his professional debut in the NFL in 1971 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the Los Angeles Rams for his entire 9 year career.

Most people believe that 1974 was Dave Elmendorf's best year, as he picked off 7 passes and ran back 2 interceptions for touchdowns.
