Born on March 7, 1890 in Granger, Texas, Dave Danforth (David Charles Danforth) played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 10 year career. Danforth broke into the bigs on August 1, 1911 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 3.27 ERA in 93.2 innings pitched in 1916, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Dave Danforth's best season was 1917, when he posted a 2.65 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 79 batters.
