Dave Chalk (David Lee Chalk) was born on August 30, 1950 in Del Rio, Texas. He made his Major League debut on September 4, 1973 for the California Angels. In 1974, his rookie year, he hit .252 with 5 home runs and 31 RBI. Chalk played for the California Angels, Texas Rangers, Oakland Athletics and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 9 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Dave Chalk's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1975, when he knocked in 56 runs. However, others believe that it was 1977, when he hit for a .277 average.
