Dave Cash (David Cash) was born on June 11, 1948 in Utica, New York. He made his Major League debut on September 13, 1969 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1970, his rookie year, he hit .314 with 1 home run and 28 RBI. Cash played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, Montreal Expos and San Diego Padres over the course of his 12 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Dave Cash's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1975, when he hit for a .305 average and knocked in 57 runs. However, others believe that it was 1974, when he hit for a .300 average and knocked in 58 runs.
