Darrel Chaney (Darrel Lee Chaney) was born on March 9, 1948 in Hammond, Indiana. He made his Major League debut on April 11, 1969 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1969, his rookie year, he hit .191 with 0 home runs and 15 RBI. Chaney played for the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Darrel Chaney's best season was 1976, when he knocked in 50 runs.
