Danny Richardson (Daniel Richardson) was born on January 25, 1863 in Elmira, New York. He made his Major League debut on May 22, 1884 for the New York Gothams. In 1884, his rookie year, he hit .253 with 1 home run and 27 RBI. Richardson played for the New York Gothams, New York Giants, Washington Senators, Brooklyn Bridegrooms and Louisville Colonels over the course of his 11 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Danny Richardson's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1889, when he stole 32 bases, hit for a .280 average and knocked in 100 runs. However, others believe that it was 1890, when he stole 37 bases and knocked in 80 runs.
