Danny Heep (Daniel William Heep) was born on July 3, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas. He made his Major League debut on August 31, 1979 for the Houston Astros. In 1982, his rookie year, he hit .237 with 4 home runs and 22 RBI. Heep played for the Houston Astros, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that Danny Heep's best season was 1989, when he hit for a .300 average.
