Danny Gardella (Daniel Lewis Gardella) was born on February 26, 1920 in New York, New York. He made his Major League debut on May 14, 1944 for the New York Giants. In 1945, his rookie year, he hit .272 with 18 home runs and 71 RBI. Gardella played for the New York Giants for his entire 2 year career.
