Born on April 18, 1873 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Danny Friend (Daniel Sebastian Friend) played for the Chicago Colts and Chicago Orphans over the course of his 4 year career. Friend broke into the bigs on September 10, 1895 with the Chicago Colts, and put up a 4.74 ERA in 290.2 innings pitched in 1896, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Danny Friend's best season was 1896, when he posted a 4.74 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 86 batters.
