Danny Edwards (Daniel Moody Edwards) was born on July 18, 1926 in Osage, Texas. After going to high school at Gatesville (TX), Edwards attended the University of Georgia. Edwards made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1948 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played in the AAFC for 2 years, playing for the Chicago Hornets and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 2 year AAFC career.Edwards also played in the NFL for 5 years, playing for the Baltimore Colts, New York Yanks and Dallas Cowboys over the course of his 5 year NFL career.

Most people believe that 1950 was Danny Edwards's best year, as he hauled in 52 receptions, had 775 receiving yards and caught 6 TD passes.
