Danny Birdwell (Daniel Lee Birdwell) was born on October 14, 1940 in Big Spring, Texas. After going to high school at Big Spring (TX), Birdwell attended the University of Houston. Birdwell made his professional debut in the AFL in 1962 with the Oakland Raiders. He played for the Oakland Raiders for his entire 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1964 was Danny Birdwell's best year.
