Dan Shannon (Daniel Webster Shannon) was born on March 23, 1865 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 1889 for the Louisville Colonels. In 1889, his rookie year, he hit .257 with 4 home runs and 48 RBI. Shannon played for the Louisville Colonels, Philadelphia Athletics, New York Giants and Washington Senators over the course of his 3 year career.
