Dan Ross
[edit] Biography
Dan Ross (Daniel Richard Ross) was born on February 9, 1957 in Malden, Massachusetts. After going to high school at Everett (MA), Ross attended Northeastern University. Ross made his professional debut in the NFL in 1979 with the Cincinnati Bengals. He played for the Cincinnati Bengals, Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks over the course of his 7 year career.
Most people believe that 1981 was Dan Ross's best year, as he hauled in 71 receptions, had 910 receiving yards and caught 5 TD passes.
In Super Bowl XVI, Ross caught a Super Bowl record 11 catches (tied for the Super Bowl record) for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sadly, his MVP performance was not enough as the Bengals fall 26-21 to the 49ers.
Tragically, Ross' young life ended from a heart attack while jogging. He was 49 years old.
