Dan Garza (Daniel Robert Garza) was born on February 21, 1924 in Anderson, South Carolina. After going to high school at G.W. Breckenridge (San Antonio, TX), Garza attended Central Missouri State University, the University of North Texas and the University of Oregon. Garza made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1949 with the New York Yankees. He played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the New York Yankees the entire time. Garza also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the New York Yanks the entire time.

Most people believe that 1951 was Dan Garza's best year, as he caught 4 TD passes.
