Dan Driessen (Daniel Driessen) was born on July 29, 1951 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He made his Major League debut on June 9, 1973 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1973, his rookie year, he hit .301 with 4 home runs and 47 RBI. Driessen played for the Cincinnati Reds, Montreal Expos, San Francisco Giants, Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 15 year career.

Most people believe that Dan Driessen's best season was 1977, when he slugged 17 home runs, stole 31 bases, hit for a .300 average and knocked in 91 runs.
