Dan Dickel (Daniel Lee Dickel) was born on August 24, 1952 in Fort Riley, Kansas. After going to high school at Mid-Prairie (Kalona, IA), Dickel attended the University of Iowa. Dickel made his professional debut in the NFL in 1974 with the Baltimore Colts. He played for the Baltimore Colts and Detroit Lions over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1974 was Dan Dickel's best year.
