Born on November 20, 1862 in Binghamton, New York, Dan Casey (Daniel Maurice Casey) played for the Wilmington Quicksteps, Detroit Wolverines, Philadelphia Phillies and [[]] over the course of his 7 year career. Casey broke into the bigs on August 18, 1884 with the Wilmington Quicksteps, and put up a 3.29 ERA in 104 innings pitched in 1885, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Dan Casey's best season was 1886, when he posted a 2.41 ERA, won 24 games and struck out 193 batters.
