Born on January 19, 1895 in Samantha, Alabama, Dan Boone (James Albert Boone) played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 4 year career. Boone broke into the bigs on September 10, 1919 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 4.06 ERA in 75.1 innings pitched in 1922, his rookie year.
