The Dallas Stars defeated the Phoenix Coyotes 1-0 on Thursday Night in Glendale, AZ.
For the Stars, all they needed was a Brenden Morrow Power Play goal in the 2nd period and 13 saves from Marty Turco, giving the visitors their 12th victory of the year.
Notes:
Klemm: For those looking to see Jon Klemm in uniform this season, you got your wish on Thursday night as he played for the first time against the Coyotes. Thanks to a personal absence by Philippe Boucher, Klemm skated along side Trevor Daley.
However, the Stars next game is on Wednesday, so there is a good chance that Boucher will be reinserted into the lineup and Klemm will be scratched again.
Offensive Slump:
For the third consecutive game, the Stars managed to score only one goal. Yet, that goal stood up as the pathetic Coyotes failed to mark the scoresheet.
Even as the Stars scored a power play goal, the special teams tally failed to spark the rest of the offense as Coyotes Goaltender Curtis Joseph made 35 saves on the night.
Thus, you can officially can the Stars offensively challenged and in the midst of a slump. However, a slump buster comes in their next game as they will face off against the putrid, abysmal and pathetic Islanders on Wednesday.
Mavs win too:
There were two teams that beat up against a Phoenix squad Thursday Night as the Stars defeated the Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale and the Mavericks finally won their first game of the season at America West Arena against the Suns.......
On Sunday, the Cowboys look to complete the Metroplex Trifecta against the Valley Of The Sun when the play the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium.
If the Cowboys win, I might just call up a radio station in Phoenix and declare scoreboard for the Metroplex......
