Born on February 2, 1950 in Cuero, Texas, Dale Murray (Dale Albert Murray) played for the Montreal Expos, Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees and Texas Rangers over the course of his 12 year career. Murray broke into the bigs on July 7, 1974 with the Montreal Expos, and put up a 1.03 ERA in 69.2 innings pitched in 1974, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Dale Murray's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1975, when he posted a 3.96 ERA and won 15 games. However, others believe that it was 1982, when he posted a 3.16 ERA, notched 11 saves and struck out 60 batters.
