Dale Hackbart (Dale Leonard Hackbart) was born on July 21, 1938 in Madison, Wisconsin. After going to high school at East (Madison, WI), Hackbart attended the University of Wisconsin. Hackbart made his professional debut in the NFL in 1960 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Minnesota Vikings, Washington Redskins, St. Louis Cardinals, Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that 1961 was Dale Hackbart's best year, as he picked off 6 passes and ran back 2 interceptions for touchdowns.
