Dale Davis arrested in Miami

The sports blotter continues to grow by the day and we can add Dale Davis to the list. The 15-year NBA veteran was arrested on Tuesday in a hotel in Miami Beach and charged with disorderly conduct, assualt and resisting arrest. An officer eventually had to use a stun gun on him after he continued to be aggressive and threatening to the police. Davis felt that he was targeted due to the fact that he was black and he plans to sue Miami Beach police for unlawful treatment during his arrest.

I watched Dale Davis during Indiana's constant playoff battles with teams such as the Knicks throughout his career. He was very level-headed and had a great deal of self-control. Needless to say my jaw dropped a little reading this article.

It seems if there is an article about an athlete being in Miami that isn't related to a game, it includes the words "disorderly conduct, assualt and resisting arrest." Why is that. In other news, David was quoted as saying, "This was my first step in my attempt at becoming a two-sport athlete, I've signed a contract with the Cincinnati Bengals!"
