Dain Clay (Dain Elmer Clay) was born on July 10, 1919 in Hicksville, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on June 12, 1943 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1944, his rookie year, he hit .250 with 0 home runs and 17 RBI. Clay played for the Cincinnati Reds for his entire 4 year career.
Most people believe that Dain Clay's best season was 1945, when he hit for a .280 average and knocked in 50 runs.
