Defensive Rating

In basketball, Defensive Rating or Defensive Efficiency measures how many points a team allows per 100 possessions, and is a better metric to measure defense that the standard Points Allowed per Game because per-possession stats strip away the illusions of pace. Defensive Efficiency is simply calculated as:

DRtg = 100*(Points Allowed / Opponent Possessions)
