During his twenty-two-year career, Cy Young won 511 games. Currently, Walter Johnson is second on the list with 417 wins. His unreachable total was echoed one day when, as he told a reporter many years after his retirement, a man walked up to him, seemed to recognize him, and asked, "Did you used to play baseball?" Young told the reporter that he told the man, "Mister, I won more games than you'll ever see."

If...IF it is ever to be broken, its going to take significant era changes (like pitchers starting more) to even have a chance. Or maybe a rule change? All things remaining equal/the same, this record appears to be unbreakable...

Second place all time is only 82% there? Guys today are 'great' if they reach 300? This record is safe.

He also has the most career losses with 316. That record will probably never be broken.

records are made to be broken. Wait until the 200-game season and the designated deciding pitcher specialist takes effect...

Pitch counts are taking pitchers out of games too early to get as many wins as they used to and bullpens are blowing too many leads of starting pitchers.

all a person would have to do is to average 26 wins a year for 20 years

hahaha. that's pretty simple, right? You know, it's been a while since anyone won 26 games in a year, much less did it for consecutive years...
