Curtis Whitley (Curtis Wayne Whitley) was born on May 10, 1969 in Lowgrounds, North Carolina. After going to high school at Smithfield-Selma (Smithfield, NC), Whitley attended Chowan JC and Clemson University. Whitley made his professional debut in the NFL in 1992 with the San Diego Chargers. He played for the San Diego Chargers, Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders over the course of his 6 year career.
