Born on April 16, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan, Curt Young (Curtis Allen Young) played for the Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 11 year career. Young broke into the bigs on June 24, 1983 with the Oakland Athletics, and put up a 4.06 ERA in 108.2 innings pitched in 1984, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Curt Young's best season was 1987, when he posted a 4.08 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 124 batters.
