Culpepper Wants Out

In an email to reporters -- quite possibly because with all the ligament tears, he couldn't get out of a chair -- Daunte Culpepper expressed his desire to leave Minnesota:
"If a trade does not happen then I am asking the Vikings to terminate my contract as soon as possible."
Culpepper cited "fundamental differences" between himself and management, and requested the ability to shop his services to other teams himself. The Vikings denied his request. Daunte did leave himself a way out of what will soon be a firestorm, saying that if he is neither traded nor cut, that he will fulfill his contractual obligations with the Vikes. Culpepper is due a $6 million roster bonus later this month.
