The Foul Pole

That's right! Derrek Lee, the Chicago Cubs' personal Jesus, has risen from the dead and made his triumphant return from the disabled list to the nearly dead Cubs Sunday. He only made one rehab start at AAA Iowa, in which Lee went 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Today, against the Minnesota Twins, a team that is red-hot, going 9-1 in their last 10, but still can't gain any ground in the smokin' AL Central. Lee as of now is 1-for-3 with a single and strikeout in his first major league game back. The Cubs also have zero runs on seven hits, as the Twins are beating the north siders 5-0.

And if you want to know what the Cubs gave up for lent while their savior was away? Well, that would be winning of course. The Cubs are 19-40 since Lee went on the DL.

Savior is the one who gets Prior and Wood to each pitch an entire season healthy, at the same time.

I don't understand what Prior/Wood are doing, or rather not doing, that lands them on the DL. They rehab, come back from one start, and are then back on the DL. Shouldn't we be questioning the training staff?

When he walks on water and hell freezes over. He'll definatly have a positive impact on the team being back, but it's going to take more than fishes and loaves and a few Holy Sacraments to come back from 28-46. Dusty needs to go to confesion and repent how bad he and his staff and team owners are for the team, then we can talk miracles.
