Jason Crump will ride in tonight's Speedway Grand Prix of Czech Republic after a major fall on Tuesday.
Crump has broken his kneecap, but can still walk, and will take surgery on Monday after the race. He hopes to ride in the Speedway Grand Prix of Scandinavia in two weeks time.
The doctor was amazed that "he wasn't visiting him on crutches", and says that surgery is required after tonight's Grand Prix.
Crump, the 2006 champion, is currenly lying in 6th place in the standings, a massive 33 points behind leader Nicki Pedersen, with tonight's race marking the entry into the second half of the season.
