Crosby Signs 5 year extension

It is a glorious day in Pittsburgh. Sidney Crosby signed a 5 year extension onto his contract. It is believed to Be worth $9 million. In a conversation with a friend at DC Pro Sports Report, he was wishing the Caps would do the same with Ovechkin.

He and I also believe that the NHL should start to market a Crosby-Ovechkin rivalry. These are the two biggest names in the NHL and there is no reason why the NHL shouldn't try to grow a larger fan base off of these two players.

This could turn up to be very bad news for the Caps as they look to resign Oveckin over the course of the season.

ok, i am new to this so please bear with me. did Pittsburgh Finally agree about a new arena? i cant remeber. if they did great for all, if it isn't 100% sid is taking a gamble. I would want an "out clause" so he sosen't end up playing somewhere he dosen't want to

I don't think they've come to an agreement w/ the city... But Sid is gonna be making 9 mil a year...a top contract in hockey and he's already playing in pittsburgh, which, is relatively remote as is..moving to KC or Vegas, IMO, would be welcome...heh...

After the PA State Budget was passed it gave money to the Arena Deal so I am 99.99999% sure its a done deal. The have already started to demolish buildings on the site so...its safe to say it is coming.
