Craig Hertwig (John Craig Hertwig) was born on January 15, 1952 in Columbus, Georgia. After going to high school at Mark Smith (Macon, GA), Hertwig attended the University of Georgia. Hertwig made his professional debut in the NFL in 1975 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 3 year career.
