Born on April 2, 1911 in Cisco, Texas, Cotton Pippen (Henry Harold Pippen) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Athletics and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 3 year career. Pippen broke into the bigs on August 28, 1936 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 6.11 ERA in 132.2 innings pitched in 1939, his rookie year.
