Born on January 23, 1923 in Arapaho, Oklahoma, Cot Deal (Ellis Ferguson Deal) played for the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 4 year career. Deal broke into the bigs on September 11, 1947 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 6.28 ERA in 71.2 innings pitched in 1954, his rookie year.
