Cory Bailey reached the majors in 1993 with the Boston Red Sox, spending two years with them before moving to the St. Louis Cardinals (1995-96), San Francisco Giants (1997-98) and Kansas City Royals (2001-02). His most productive season came in 1996 with St. Louis, when he posted career-highs with five wins and a 3.00 ERA. He had another decent season in 2001 for Kansas City, striking out 61 batters in 67 ⅓ innings, also career-numbers.
In 172 games Bailey compiled a 9-10 record with one save a 3.96 ERA. After that, he has played with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan's Central League (2003-04), La New Bears of the Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League (2005), and Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League (2006). Currently (2007), he is playing with Iowa Cubs, triple A team of Chicago Cubs.
