Born on December 27, 1922 in Stone Mountain, Georgia, Connie Johnson (Clifford Johnson) played for the Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 5 year career. Johnson broke into the bigs on April 17, 1953 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 3.56 ERA in 60.2 innings pitched in 1953, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Connie Johnson's best season was 1957, when he posted a 3.20 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 177 batters.
