No matter what team you like (even Notre Dame!), college football fans have to admit that Joe Paterno is one of the best coaches of all-time. And today in New York, Joe Pa was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. This was going to happen last year but during a game two players collided with Paterno and he broke his leg, preventing him from making the flight up.
Joe Paterno is the second winingest coach in major college football. He has the most bowl apperences of any coach (33 -- about to appear in the Alamo Bowl for #34) and the most bowl wins (22). He broke the record for most years coached for a single team with 42 years. Induction into the Hall of Fame is a well deserved honor for a coach who is the least greedy person in the world. He still owns a small house, making roughly $500,000 a year, and that's enough for him -- he never asked for more and even if he had more it would just be donated back to the school.
Along with Joe Pa two other big names being inducted: Doug Flutie and Ahmad Rashad. Congratulations to everyone for making it.
