The MLB Playoffs are almost here and the Sox are in but am i the only one that misses the curse? The excitement of it finally being our year could yu imagine a Sox-Cubs or Sox-Phillies series with so much history on the line.  2004 was one of the highest rated playoffs in FOX broadcast history because everyone was watching and hoping it was the year now in 2007 its not the same.  Dont get me wrong im hoping for the trifecta (Sox, Celts, Pats) but its as if something is missing maybe we need another 0-3 deficit lose a star player(no jinx) or something to really get me hyped for the playoffs, aside from the Indians its been there done dat for the AL.  Even the Pats have their legacy tainted so they have something to prove,we have nothing even in 2005 trying to repeat was something to be excited about. Idk im rooting for the Sox but i just dont feel it this year...as long as the Yankees dont win im happy

As a Sox fan, I'll say that it feels like I don't want it as much as in '03 or '04, but I still want it more than anything in sports. Even more than I want a 19-0 season from the Pats. Maybe your intensity will pick up when the playoffs begin, or if the Sox make it deep. It's weird for us to be cruising into the playoffs like this, though. Maybe that's why you're not feeling it.

The feeling that you are currently experiencing is one of the fan afterglow due to a recent championship. Obviously, you are still comparing the feeling s for this season to the ones that you felt back in 2004, which is somewhat excusable since it is still recent history. But to say that you miss this "curse" is, to be blunt, moronic. You would rather hold on to this notion that the Sox are special because they are "cursed" than live in the now and enjoy the team in front of you as they become a possible Top 3 favorite to win the World Series. I just don’t understand that logic. By the way, the "curse" is a fallacy created by a sport writer and further perpetuated by casual fans and profiteers. Don't fall prey to believing in it as it damages your credibility as a true Sox fan.
