Peyton Manning has really struggled in the first half, it is 23-7 SD over Indy at the half in Qualcomm. Manning has a TD pss, but an astonishing 4 INT's!!!! He was sacked twice, both in key situations. The Colts O-Lineman, Ryan Diem, suffered an injury late in the second quarter after having SD LB Shawne Merriman roll over the back of his leg. The Colts are now down to just one extra Offensive lineman. If SD blitzes alot in the second half, which I am expecting, then Indy is in for some big trouble.
The key to SD's 16-point lead would be KR/PR Darren Sproles, who ran a kick, and a punt back for TD's (both in 1st QTR). He ran back Vinateri's opening kickoff 89-yards for a TD, and then later in the first, ran Hunter Smith's punt back for a 45-yard TD, which gave SD a 16-0 lead after the two-point conversion failed. Just before halftime, Adam Vinateri missed a 42-yard FG wide left as time expired. Manning will have to fight hard, and have a near-perfect second half if he's going to pull this one off.
