Colts Sign Vinatieri

According to the Associated Press, the Colts have agreed in principle to a deal with kicker Adam Vinatieri. Vinatieri will replace Pro Bowl kicker Mike Vanderjagt, who'll probably be best remembered for his controversial off-season comments a few seasons ago about Indy coach Tony Dungy and quarterback Peyton Manning and more recently for his 46-yard wide right field goal attempt against the eventual Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

Amazingly, Vinny is an even better fantasy football kicker than he was before. Great kicker, great offense, playing indoors, gets to face Houston twice a year. Awesome!

Great pickup. Vanderjagt may have the best all-time FG percentage, but we all know about his trouble hitting clutch kicks. Now the Colts have the guy that ONLY seems to hit game-winning field goals. Great for them. Big question now - can the Patriots win in the post-season without the man with the golden toe?

ASwaff -- I dunno. Seems like a lot of space for a kicker. How many big kicks are there in a year? I think the Colts are playing the hindsight game a bit too much.
