Michigan 38 - Notre Dame 0
Michigan was playing badly, Notre Dame is just plain bad. They were thoroughly destroyed in every aspect of the game. Their offensive line was non-existent. It doesn't get any easier for the Irish either. With Michigan State, Purdue, UCLA, Boston College, and USC coming up on the schedule, an 0-8 start is not inconceivable. The only thing more laughable than their play so far this season is Charlie Weis' insistence on wearing his belt smack in the middle of his ample gut, giving us all a lovely glimpse of his male FUPA.
Utah 44 - (11) UCLA 6
UCLA was the 11th ranked team in the country, playing a team that was 0-2 in the MWC. It should have been a slam dunk. The numbers were mostly identical in this game, except for UCLA turning the ball over five times. The Bruins were kept out of the end-zone for the first time in four years and gave up 30 unanswered points in the second half. This is another example of why pre-season rankings are ridiculous.
(6) Texas 35 - UCF 32
Texas was invited to help open Central Florida's new stadium, and almost gave them the biggest win in the history of the school as well. The Longhorns dominated the game statistically in terms of total yards and time of possession, but couldn't seal the deal and was forced to kick five field goals. The Appalachian St. impact is reverberating around the country as small schools simply aren't scared of playing the Goliaths anymore.
(2) LSU 44 - Middle Tennessee 0
The speculation about Les Miles moving to Michigan hasn't affected this team's performance. The total yardage says it all LSU 505 - Middle Tennessee 90. No one in the country has been more impressive, but they will remain #2 because idiot voters thought USC looked more impressive in Spring Practice.
Kentucky 40 - (9) Louisville 34
Andre Woodson marked his name on Heisman voters list with an impressive 30-44 275 yard 4 TD performance to give Kentucky their first win over their rivals in four years. The true test of this team will come the first three weeks in October, when they go to South Carolina and then host LSU and Florida back to back.
