CAREER: Instinctive linebacker who is being groomed for a major role in 2007...Has been compared to former UM All-American Dan Morgan, and wears the same jersey number...Expected to be a big-play performer from the strongside linebacker position...Played in nine games as a true freshman in 2006...All-State linebacker in 2005 has excellent speed, athleticism, power and skills...Sports administration major.

2006 (FRESHMAN): Played in nine games before suffering a pulled hamstring, then returned for the bowl game...Stellar special teams player who had the team's only blocked punt of the season...Team's backup at strongside linebacker most of the year...Played linebacker in two games...Despite missing one-fourth of the season, tied for third on the team with six tackles on special teams...Played on special teams in his first collegiate game in the opener against Florida State...Saw action on four plays as a reserve strongside linebacker vs. Florida A&M, making one assisted tackle...Saw action on 10 plays at strongside linebacker (one solo tackle) against North Carolina. Also played on special teams and blocked a punt that eventually led to a touchdown. Was the team's first blocked punt since 2005...Played one play on defense at Duke but suffered a pulled hamstring injury and left the game...Missed the next two games...Saw very limited action on special teams against Maryland before re-straining his hamstring, then missed the following two games...Returned to action in the MPC Computers Bowl against Nevada and played on special teams.

HIGH SCHOOL: All-State linebacker...As a senior in 2005, played linebacker, tight end and wide receiver...Missed three games with a torn labrum in his shoulder, but finished the year with 133 tackles, four sacks, one interception and 25 tackles for loss on defense...On offense, caught 38 passes for 644 yards and seven touchdowns...Played in the CaliFlorida Bowl...As a junior, played linebacker and tight end, making a school-record 163 tackles, five sacks and five interceptions...As a sophomore, played both quarterback and linebacker, passing for 1,300 yards and 11 touchdowns, and on defense making 50 tackles...Started high school in 2002 as a backup freshman quarterback but asked to play defense so he could see some action, ending the season with more than 100 tackles...Rated the No. 24 outside linebacker prospect by Rivals.com and the No. 54 prospect in Florida. Ranked the No. 36 linebacker by Scout.com. Ranked the No. 5 linebacker on the Florida Times-Union Super 75...Attended the same high school as A.J. Trump...Chose Miami over Ohio State, Nebraska, Florida, Georgia Tech and Indiana...Coached by Mike Jalazo.
