Cocaine, Gun in Rod Beck's House When He Died

Old news. New evidence. Everyone knows Beck had drug problems, and we have all suspected them to be involved in his untimely death...

On Tuesday, however, the police report was released, which stated that "four small canisters contained a white powdery residue of suspected cocaine. The larger canister contained a dried paste, commonly used to produce rock cocaine."

Tina Buchanan, Beck's personal assistant told police that he used cocaine on a daily basis, and had suffered from seizures and hallucinations.

I can't say I'm not surprised.

Just once, I'd like there to be a report of a dead body in a house/apartment/hotel room loaded with cocaine, heroin, guns, booze, poisons, et cetera, and have the cause of death be something like slipping in the shower and banging your head on the towel rack.

The wording of the post intrigued me, so I read some articles about this and they do make mention of "suspected cocaine". One would think that if the police were going to take a month to investigate such an incident and write it up in a report that would be get nationwide distribution they would at least confirm it with some tests. If not worth the effort to test, then why mention it. (Of course it was 99.99% likely that was cocaine, I just like the i's dotted and t's crossed)
