Clyde Kluttz (Clyde Franklin Kluttz) was born on December 12, 1917 in Rockwell, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on April 20, 1942 for the Boston Braves. In 1942, his rookie year, he hit .267 with 1 home run and 31 RBI. Kluttz played for the Boston Braves, New York Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Washington Senators and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Clyde Kluttz's best season was 1945, when he hit for a .284 average.
