Acquired:

Acquired from the Montreal Alouettes along with Phillip Gauthier in exchange for Adriano Belli on August 29, 2006.

2006:

For the third consecutive year Wayne kept his suitcase close to his side with his season being split between two clubs, this time around with Montreal and Hamilton…in 12 games between the two teams he made 18 defensive tackles including one for a one yard loss and a career high five quarterback sacks…made six defensive tackles in five games with Montreal…after missing the first three games of the regular season Wayne made two defensive tackles in the Alouettes 44-16 victory at Winnipeg on July 15th…played in seven games with one start for Hamilton after he was acquired from Montreal along with Phillip Gauthier in exchange for Adriano Belli on July 29th…tied for second on the team with five quarterback sacks and made 12 defensive tackles…in his Ticats debut, a 40-8 loss to Toronto on September 4th Wayne recorded one quarterback sack…made a season high three defensive tackles and one quarterback sack in the Tiger-Cats 20-18 victory at Edmonton on September 22nd…in his first start of the season, a 23-17 loss at B.C. on October 21st, Wayne equaled his season high of three defensive tackles and made one quarterback sack.

2005:

Began the year with the Eskimos before being traded to Montreal on July 31st in exchange for Kwame Cavil…in 15 games between the two teams he made 13 defensive tackles, two quarterback sacks and recovered one fumble…made three defensive tackles and two quarterback sacks in four games with Edmonton, missing two due to injury…recorded a quarterback sack in Edmonton’s 41-16 season opening victory over Ottawa…in the Eskimos 27-8 victory at Winnipeg on June 30th Wayne made two defensive tackles…in his Alouettes debut, a 42-13 victory over Saskatchewan on August 4th he made two defensive tackles…made a season high three defensive tackles in Montreal’s 18-10 victory at Toronto on August 20th…in the Alouettes 49-23 loss at Toronto on October 22nd he equaled his season high of three defensive tackles…missed the final two games of the regular season and all of the playoffs, including Montreal’s 38-35 Grey Cup overtime loss to Edmonton due to injury.

2004:

Split his fourth year in the CFL between Ottawa and Edmonton…made 21 defensive tackles including two for five yards in losses, one quarterback sack and one fumble recovery in 16 games played between the two clubs…in eight games with Ottawa Wayne had six defensive tackles including one for a two yard loss, one quarterback sack and one fumble recovery…in Ottawa’s 29-1 loss to Winnipeg on July 16th Wayne had one quarterback sack, his first of the season and one defensive tackle…made three defensive tackles in the Renegades 47-27 loss at B.C. on August 6th…was traded by the Renegades along with Patrick Kabongo to the Eskimos on August 31st in exchange for Edmonton’s first and second round draft choices in the 2005 Canadian College Draft…made his Eskimos debut in their 25-7 victory at Calgary on September 6th…made a season a season high four defensive tackles in Edmonton’s 30-27 loss at Hamilton on October 1st…made two defensive tackles in Edmonton’s 14-6 West Semi-Final loss to Saskatchewan.

2003:

Played in all 18 games during his second season in the Nation’s Capital…made 30 defensive tackles including two for four yards in losses and two quarterback sacks…also recovered one fumble and knocked down a pass…made a season high three defensive tackles in Ottawa’s 48-14 loss to B.C. on July 18th…in the Renegades 34-19 loss the next week at B.C., Wayne recorded his first quarterback sack of the season and made two defensive tackles…equaled his season high on three defensive tackles in Ottawa’s 34-29 loss at Winnipeg on August 12th...in the Renegades 30-10 loss at Montreal on September 14th, Wayne recovered an Anthony Calvillo fumble and made one defensive tackle…once again Wayne equaled his season high of three defensive tackles, this time around coming in Ottawa’s 45-33 loss at Edmonton on September 19th.

2002:

The Ottawa Renegades selected Wayne in phase one of the 2002 expansion draft on January 17th…played in all 18 games during his first season with the Renegades…made 25 defensive tackles, ranking second on the Renegades defensive line in the category behind Mike Moten (29)…also had two quarterback sacks one tackle for a loss…in his Renegades debut, the first game in the franchise’s history, a 30-27 overtime loss to Saskatchewan, Wayne made one solo tackle…recorded the first quarterback sack of his CFL career in Ottawa’s 40-24 loss at Edmonton on July 4th…made a season high three defensive tackles on four occasions during the regular season, August 15th at B.C., September 22nd vs. Calgary, September 28th at Saskatchewan and November 3rd at Montreal.

2001:

Played in 10 games during his rookie season with Calgary…made six defensive tackles and one special teams tackle…also had one kickoff return for six yards…in his CFL debut, a 27-13 loss at B.C. on August 25th Wayne made two defensive tackles…made two defensive tackles in the Stampeders 29-26 overtime loss at Hamilton on September 22nd…in Calgary’s 28-19 West Semi-Final victory over B.C. Wayne recorded one quarterback sack and returned one kickoff seven yards…made one defensive tackle in the Stampeders 27-19 Grey Cup victory over Winnipeg, earning his first championship ring as a professional.

2000:

The Calgary Stampeders selected Wayne in the third round (21st overall) of the 2000 CFL Canadian College Draft…returned to Ohio State for his final season of NCAA eligibility.

College:

Played in five seasons (1996-2000) with the Ohio State University Buckeyes…in 46 career games he made 47 total tackles (27 solo) including six for 23 yards in losses and three quarterback sacks…intercepted two passes, one of which he returned for a touchdown…also forced two fumbles and recovered another.

Personal:

Clinton Wayne was born May 17, 1977…the son of Evelyn and Lawrence Wayne...older brother, Patrick, played in the CFL for nine years, appearing in 117 games over eight seasons (1987-92, 94-95) with the Ottawa Roughriders…also played for both B.C. and Toronto in 1993…attended Centennial High School in Brampton, Ontario where he was regarded by most recruiting experts as the best player in Canada his senior year.
