Born on May 13, 1924 in Louisa, Kentucky, Cliff Fannin (Clifford Bryson Fannin) played for the St. Louis Browns for his entire 8 year career. Fannin broke into the bigs on September 2, 1945 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 3.01 ERA in 86.2 innings pitched in 1946, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Cliff Fannin's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1948, when he posted a 4.17 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 102 batters. However, others believe that it was 1946, when he posted a 3.01 ERA and struck out 52 batters.
