Cliff Chambers

Born on January 10, 1922 in Portland, Oregon, Cliff Chambers (Clifford Day Chambers) played for the Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 6 year career. Chambers broke into the bigs on April 24, 1948 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 4.43 ERA in 103.2 innings pitched in 1948, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Cliff Chambers's best season was 1949, when he posted a 3.96 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 93 batters.
