Highlights from a rare early-season weekday game:

  • Darrell Rasner has another solid (by his standards) performance, going 4 1/3 and giving up only one earned run while notching a walk and three strikeouts.
  • One-time Yank David Dellucci homers in the fourth inning to tie the game.
  • Jason Giambi unloads his fourth tater of the year in the sixth.
  • Luis Vizcaino was Mr. Dependable up until he came in the 7th, giving up four runs to put the tribe up 6-2.

Then, there was the bottom of the ninth, when the Yanks were down to their last out. Josh Phelps, pinch-hitting for Doug Mientkiewicz, launched a solo shot to right-center ofJoe Borowski to start a Yankee rally. After Jorge Posada got a base hit and Johnny Damon drew a walk, the Captain, Derek Jeter, squeezed out an RBI single, scoring Jorgie and pulling the Yanks to within two runs. Bobby Abreu followed suit, scoring Damon to put the scor at 6-5 in favor of Cleveland.

Alex Rodriguez had gone 0-4 in the game, striking out twice, flying out and popping out. He was now in a situation almost similar to what he faced two weeks ago against the Orioles. A wild pitch put the runners in scoring position, and A-Rod followed with a three-run shot into Monument Park. ALEXANDER THE GREAT HAD DONE IT AGAIN!! A-Rod's second walk-off homer of 2007 was also his 10th of the young season. ON TO BOSTON!!

A-Rod is keeping my fantasy team afloat as Howard slumps. Long live A-Rod this regular season!

The world is right when the Yankees win. Doesn't seem natural otherwise...

I think you mean hell. Hell is right when the Yankees win.
