Clemens Strong in Second Outing

Is he still able to play for the Astros if he piches 0.1 innings? He appears in good form, so if he pitches 0.1 innings whenever, he will be fresher for the Astros, and could get called up to play for the Astros sooner.

He says that he still doesn't have the stamina and he's not ready yet, but he's very close. They were only a AA team, but he was pretty impressive. And because he reached double digits in K's, the fans at the stadium got free tacos!

Still, for him to throw 73 pitches and hit over 90-mph on the gun makes me think he's very close to being ready to pitch against major leaguers. I figure his first MLB start will be about 5 IP max no matter how his last tuneup goes. Three cheers for Free Tacos!!

No way. Minor league baseball should not be broadcasted on ESPN and interupting sportscenter, regardless of who's playing. This guy gets too much publicity for pitching to 20 year olds. I don't appreciate your very personal hate on my comments. I'm merely stating my opinion that clemens minor league starts aren't real news. How many good to great pitchers have a few minor league rehab assignments and don't get that much coverage. Case in point, Cy Young winnner Bartolo Colon had a rehab assignment and the news was the he had one, thats it. It wasn't on freakin ESPN! Very low blow Swaff, don't appreciate it.

Its Minor League baseball! They don't even put their championships on ESPN! (I think some might get on ESPN2?) and they they put the rocket on here. I'm not biased against him, i just think its stupid that they put his minor league (in effect rehab) starts on freakin ESPN! Am i wrong? The guy's the best pitcher of his generation, but I don't wanna see his rehab starts on ESPN!!!

For the record, I'd rather see Clemens' minor league start then the World Dominoes Tournament 2005 that was on ESPN2 yesterday after soccer ended.
