Born on May 7, 1937 in St. Jean, Quebec (Canada), Claude Raymond (Jean Claude Marc Raymond) played for the Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Braves, Houston Colt .45s, Houston Astros, Atlanta Braves and Montreal Expos over the course of his 12 year career. Raymond broke into the bigs on April 15, 1959 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 5.40 ERA in 53.1 innings pitched in 1963, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Claude Raymond's best season was 1966, when he posted a 3.13 ERA, notched 16 saves and struck out 73 batters.
